Got it. Had to reformat the card and dump the pictures back on there again.

Hey, does the link for all the preloaded pictures work for any phone? She wants the preloaded backgrounds on her phone.

Just to double-check, i just loaded the movie, Never Back Down, which is about 1 hr 23 minutes long, and although, it didn't play because of the resolution its encoded at, the timer and the seek function still works, 5 second seek if you hold down the alt key while scrolling the trackball. Noice!!!!!
Thanks - this is great! That's a really great bit of info - I've been hoping for a way to jump forward in smaller increments, this is just what I wanted!!

I found that for this to work you have to click and hold the trackball, press and hold the Alt key, and then release the trackball and roll yourself forward in five second increments. Excellent.

Default applications not available while upgrading os

i've finally had the time to download a new desktop manager, 4.6 and the latest os .77 to my pearl.

everything seems to be loading correctly, it offers the chance to click on what programs i want to include, but when i hit next the message that comes back is: application cannot be loaded because it requires the following applications that are not available.

net.rim.blackberry.xml

have i deleted something i should not have while working to maximize memory?

i put it in and it scans it and everything shows up for about 15 seconds then everything is gone and when i explore the card nothing is there. like 15 minutes later it recognizes the card and its contents but nothing plays. i've formatted the card and took everythin off then on. i dont have much free memory on it cause i load it with music so is it a memory problem? the card was not like this on .66 so i dont know why its doing it now. any help?

I just updated and so far things seem to be working fine... However, there is "Trooper Typing" on my BB now.. It doesn't show up in the applications and I do not want it. I have looked through the applications using the desktop manager as well, it's not listed yet it's sure on my BB.

Also - My HTML email are still just showing the code, no images, was I wrong to be under the impression that they were going to show up normally in this OS?

Trooper Typing comes courtesy of the OS update - Not sure if it's RIM or Verizon to blame, or both, but just hide the icon.

HTML email is enabled and works quite well on this release...you have to request the images. When in an HTML email click the BB button and select "Get Images" and then select Yes on teh confirmation dialog.

At this point there is no way to always have images downloaded automagically - you have to request it for each email.

Trooper Typing is a "game" to make using Suretype easier for newbies. It is not from Verizon OR RIM. Probably a good sales job on the part of the vendor. Not sure if it helps since I'm comfy with Suretype.

My point was that either Verizon or RIM must have OK'd its inclusion...so either or both of them is still to blame, even if they didn't create it. ;)

From my understanding the MMS from Alltel has nothing to do with having 4.5, and much to do with having the correct Service Book from Alltel, now that they have enabled MMS.

Default Alltel MMS

I just resent my service books from my BIS to my 8130 pearl and I now have "compose MMS" in the message options menu. Haven't tried it yet, but nice to see it has arrived.

my desktop manager has been stuck on "read application configuration" for over 30 minutes. Is this normal?

nevermind....against my better judgement, I tried to cancel it. it wouldn't cancel--it was locked up. I unplugged it and had to reboot my pc. I tried the whole process again, and this time it seems to be working.
