The version from the Rogers' site would indeed be a downgrade. If you have app version 4.6.0.154, don't bother trying to "update" your phone. You have the best version available at this time.

Silly question time:
If I upgraded using this software, would it void my warrenty as it is not from my supplier?

No, this release is an official RIM release therefore it will not void your warranty. However using BETA versions will afaik.
Cheers,

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)
The term "beta" is a misnomer. The OS's are either released or not released by a carrier. If you load .81 before its released its the same exact version as if your carrier officially released it. They don't put a version out for beta testing, and then fix it and release it as the same version number. No OS will "void" your warranty. An OS that is not released by your carrier will make it difficult for you to get support from your carrier. However, it does NOT void your warranty.

What about v162? Is this not better than v154 and what about v167?

Other than internal RIM builds that have not leaked yet (heard as high as v167 to date) that is the latest out in the wild you are running.

This has been discussed many times especially by me. The .125 is the application number and the .242 is the release number. They are the same OS. When we here discuss OS's we are always referring to the application number. OS .125 is what Rogers released the bold with. Rogers has not released an update as of yet. The latest carrier released OS is .147 and the latest leaked not carrier released OS out there is .162. Hope this helps.

Upgrade and Vibrate
Upgraded to the latest as per the stickies - and my vibrate is noticeably weaker. In fact, it doesn't vibrate for my emails anymore.
I took out battery and restarted.
And yes it is in my profiles to vibrate.
Checked the test via the Status and vibrate works.
Help! As I am h ard of hearing and rely on vibrate. Thanks
Jonathan

Well does your car have BT that the bold connects to? If not than why would getting into your car cause the bold to restart?

Now it makes sense. I'm not sure which OS you're running though? Are you on the latest in the wild .162 or the latest officially released .147?

Jeremy, I followed your instructions, but whilst installing my device didn't reboot once, let alone twice, it also failed to say 'waiting for initialization' etc..
But when I go to 'about' on the device now, it shows 4.6.0.147.
Is this normal, and do you think I have installed and updated correctly, based upon the device showing version 147 in the about section?
