Default BB Media Player use with a magnet holster

Please Login to Remove!

I've got one of those belt holsters for my BB that has the magnet in it so it turns the screen off when it goes in.

I usually use xplayer to listen to music on my BB, but now I'm using the BB media player because I'm doing streaming radio from moodio.fm. So when I put my BB in the holster, it kills the BB media player. Is There anyway around this, or some setting somewhere to alter this or even a 3rd party solution to this problem?

Default That's odd behavior...

I have had both the 8100 on AT&T and now the 8130 on Verizon. I have never had a problem when using the stock media player with a sleeper case. I don't recall there being any settings to turn this off or on.

Sorry - this does not help you in your quest to fix the problem...

So your media player would continue to play even when it was put into a "sleeper case"?

Yes it does, but it's kinda hard to see the screen.

Correct. They will continue to play when placed in a sleeper case. For the 8100, I use an after market pouch and for my 8130, I use the stock belt clip.

Then is there a difference from listening to music from your media card or whatever, then from streaming music through the player from a website? Cause as soon as I do anything in the player while its streaming, it stops the stream.

Alright, i guess this is just a problem with the streaming media and not just listening to mp3's on the device its self. I bet it has something to do with the media player is being accessed via the browser and not the media player its self, so it acts like a web page.

Thanks for the input everyone!

Default Happy to help...

It's good to know that this is not a problem with your media player. Maybe this is something that could be addressed in a future OS upgrade. You would think that allowing streaming media to continue while in sleep mode would be an available option...

Yes. I just started using Moodio today. I find it to be great as well. I also am faced with the same issue. I have the curve 8310 with the magnetic holster. Each time i put the phone in the holster while streaming radio, it cuts off. It even cuts off if I try to access the menu or if I click back.

It looks like it is viewing the player as a web page instead of the media player. I wish it can be fixed asap becuase the display and backlight ends up draining the battery much faster.

I think they intended to use the streaming media for video, not music. How would a request be made for something like this?
