Does anyone know if these modules can be removed from the BB?

DocsToGoCommonResource__de.cod
DocsToGoCommonResource__es.cod
DocsToGoCommonResource__fr.cod
DocsToGoCommonResource__it.cod

SlideshowToGoResource__de.cod
SlideshowToGoResource__es.cod
SlideshowToGoResource__fr.cod
SlideshowToGoResource__it.cod

WordToGoResource__de.cod
WordToGoResource__es.cod
WordToGoResource__fr.cod
WordToGoResource__it.cod


Each one is anywhere between 3k - 12k in size and it just seems like a waste of memory to have them lingering if English is my default.

yes, I've deleted them from my device. I deleted them directly from the device from the list of modules.

Thanks John. I tried removing the .cod files from the "C:\.....\Java" folder and ran apploader, but it didn't remove them. I will give your approach a shot.

Most likely you have a different version in the java folder than you do on your device.

My understanding is if you don't use those languages (de, es, fr, it) you don't need those .cod files. But I could be wrong.

i see, i can remove all since they are de, es, fr and it. so i think that answers my question.

Yes, just leave the "en" English versions. Delete the files with the de, es, fr and it in them. Leave everything else. It frees up a little memory.

83,740 bytes to be exact. At least for the version I have.

Thank you guys. I use John's thread on how to free memory as my bible...i i like to have some programs installed and i'm always running low on memory so every byte of my BB counts

I don't have that in there as it doesn't free up much and it's not possible to delete it using the same method because the OS doesn't contain the modules that need to be removed.

so how i can remove them for the BB, i'm at work now so i was planning to do this at home tonight

Options >Advanced Options >Applications. Hit the menu key and select "Modules." Delete them from in there. You have to click on each one to get the full file name so you know you're deleting the right ones. It takes a few minutes to do it.

With each OS upgrade I get a little more brave.... This time I ventured out beyond the typical memory free'ing guidelines.
