Default Intranet access fails!

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,

Im trying to get our blackberries to connect to the company intranet website.
We're using BES 4.1.6.9 and MDS is running fine. ( i can connect to the internet through the blackberry browser just not intranet I get a HTTP error)

I've searched up and down these forums i cant find any reliable and specific information regarding how to get this to work.

Has anyone successfully got this function to work and how exactly was it accomplished?

Thanks

hello
Make sure you are using Blackberry Browser instead of Internet Browser. Usually that's the default MDS browser

I just want to get something cleared up in my head here...

isnt the intranet sites for internal use only? meaning a computer that is connected to the network is only able to access it? hence why no other outside computer can get onto it?

what i am thinking is just because the BB is connect via the BES server doesnt make it apart of the network, its just attached to the BES server for email....

i think thats right... i'm not that experienced with BES so i may be completely off here

You "should" be able to access internal web resources with the BB browser, just as SSH clients are able to access internal IP numbers (10.x.x.x.) by way of MDS.

According to what i've been researching, the Blackberry Browser uses the MDS service from the BES server, and all web traffic is routed through the BES server, giving you intranet access as well.
