Default Blackberry will not sync with Lotus Notes address book

Please Login to Remove!

On my T-Mobile Blackberry 8820 running 4.2.2.193 handheld OS, contacts in my Lotus notes address book will not go down to the Blackberry during synchronization with Desktop Manager.

New contacts added to the Blackberry handheld are successfully transferred to Lotus Notes when syncing. Any new contacts added to Lotus Notes contacts do not transfer to the Blackberry.

Synchronization settings were checked in Desktop Manger it is set to Synchronize with Lotus Notes both ways. Configuration file was reset several times with the same error. The hand held was nuked and the OS was reloaded still having same problem ANY IDEAS

You probably have a bad person doc that's causing the sync process to stop. There's no way to located the bad person doc.

Can you do a 1-way sync (BB-->Notes). To really rule out it being a Notes issue, you should sync to a 'blank' Address Book.

I use wireless sync, but from days gone by isn't there a log file you can check for failures?

What version of Notes? There are a couple of steps in Notes to make sure your local names.nsf file is replicated with your Mail file. There is a copy of your names.nsf that is included as part of the mail file. But you need to replicate any changes from the standalone names.nsf to the Mail file each time there is an update. In Notes 8, this process can be done automatically during each replication for everything except Journal entries. But in earlier versions, you has to manually do the replication of address book changes. In Notes 6 & 7, the replication was done under Domino Web Access. The Journal replication is still there for Notes 8.

Wireless synchronization is not the same as using the Desktop Manager PIM sync. The DM uses Intellisync for PIM synchronization whereas wireless sync uses Domino API. You can check BES logs for wireless sync activities.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. I currently use wireless, I used wired sync in the past. When I did, there was a log file you could check for failures.
