Default How often you charge your Berry?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone,

I am a new, happy user of Sprint BlackBerry 8330, for just few days. I was a long time user of Palm Treo, for the past several years. Now, I just fell in love with my new 8330 It has limitations, and I have to get used to the certain things, but it has been great so far. I tried the Sprint GPS Navigation this AM the first time, it worked great... little bit slow on the rerouting compared to my $400 Garvin GPS. Not a good apple to apple comparison I listen to mp3's alot, and can't wait to get my 8GB microSD card from amazon...supposed to come by tomorrow. I wish there's a good mp3 player like ptunes that I've been using on my Treo. I ended up selecting BerryTunes 2.5, after trying out the FlipSide and MiuTunes, as it has Radio channels (they worked great BTW). But I don't like BerryTunes' mp3 player much yet..hopefully, its newer future versions would have more enhancements.

Anyhow, that's not the main reason I am here. I have a question actually. How often do I charge the battery? Should I wait until it gets closer to the 'red' zone, ~10% or so, before I charge it? Is there any harm to the battery, if I keep it charged even though it is green, like 70%? Most of the time at work, I have the 8330 idle in my work place. If am wondering should I connect it to the USB cable or the power cable provided with kit, and have it charge constantly without harming the battery.

Thanks much in advance.

I charge mine everyday. Usually I'll charge it while I'm at work and only at home during the weekends.

I charge it as often as needed. Generally keep it topped up during the week and let it run down to around 50% or so during the weekend.

Basically, whenever I'm not using it. I charge it overnight at home, and plug it into a charger on my desk at work.

Same here...when I see that I wont make it through whatever I'm going to do (work day, week-end), I charge it

It's a Lithium battery, so no matter if you charge it at 10% or 70%, you're not causing it damage.

I have two BB's. I have a Curve and a 8110 Pearl. I charge my personal Pearl at work using the charger and use the synch cord to charge my Curve. Never have had a problem with it.
