Its taking all of my patience to wait for RIM to re-release this update. I'd hate to resort to an outside source... And with that the possibily of screawing my BB up :(
Upgraded my new VZW 8330 to 4.5 today. Other than the Docs2Go and HTML email, I've not noticed many differences (the web browser seems faster). The upgrade was painless as all my 4.3 settings were restored including 3rd party applications. So far, so good
HELP ME!!! Ok so I updated BB Desktop Manager to v.4.5 and deleted the vendor.xml file and then I closed and re-opened DM and it says it is looking for updates but none are found and does not prompt me to update my OS....HELP??!?!
I have redone the process 3 times now and still nothing...any suggestions??
Did you install the OS file in addition to the Desktop manager?
Maybe not?? Sorry I am a newbie to all of this! How do I know if I installed it or not...or how do I go about installing it....thanks so much for your patience and help!!
Follow the instructions in the first post exactly. You need Desktop Manager installed first. Once that is installed, then download the OS and install it (the link is in the first post.) Then delete the vendor.xml file last. Then plug in the BB and run Desktop Manager.
When I click the link on the first page the page it takes me to only gives me the option for the Desktop Manager V4.5...am I missing something?? Where is the OS download???
(I feel like it is right in front of me and I am looking past it sorta thing)
They pulled the 4.5 OS file from the Blackberry site a couple days ago. You can try this link, not sure if its still active. If it works, simply install it on your PC, delete the vendor.xml file, and then launch Desktop Manager.
If it doesn't bring up an upgrade window automatically, double click the loader.exe that's located in the same directory as the vendor.xml file.

There are dependable outside sources. It's easy to find.
