I have the plazmic theme creator and I am currently making. A complete windows vista theme and so far it looks great I've been working on it for a couple weeks as I am a perfectionist and everything is great except for the icons. I'm just wondering how to re size icons to make them smooth looking instead of jagged. When It automatically re sizes it but the outcome is horrid. Any tips on re sizing the icons the correct way? When I finish it I will post the link with some pictures if you guys would like to get it

I use photoshop to resize my icons and they come out clear, there are other image tools out there I know others use paintshop pro. also check out the theme builder user guide it will give you the sizes that the icons need to be.

Those are the size of the canvas's for the different phones/theme versions. You will not be able to auto resize the icons and make them look good. You will have to put a lot of time into modifying/changing them to the way you are happy with. Say you are making a Zen version theme. You could open the icon you want in Photoshop/Gimp, and also create a new 48x36 canvas with a transparent background. Then continue to drag the icon in the 48x36 canvas and manually resize to your likings. This will prevent the icon from looking distorted in the actual theme. Also, you may want to check around the internet. You may find some icons that are already resized for Blackberry themes. Good luck!

Or invest in a tool like Able Batch Converter and you can do that in like...4 click and 10 seconds.

in photoshop:

i open a single icon image (or any image will do) click on the 'action' tab... click record
i'll change the image size & then the canvas size (because most icons are squared, the plazmic icons are usually rectangular)... then, i export (or save) the image & then click stop on the action tab.

then, i open ALL the icon images that i want to modify & just keep pressing play on the action tab...

easy.

The 8300 Icon version original icon size is 53x48. The 8300 Today/Zen is 48x36.
