Default BES / BIS Integration

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BES account, is it possible to stop sending email to my Blackberry, yet continue to have wireless calendar, contact and notes sync with the exchange server.

I want to access the Exchange email via BIS so I can have HTML email.

Thanks
Marc

I suspect that the better solution is to have BES SP6 installed, assuming that you are running BES and not BPS. It is available for BES but not yet for BPS.

As for your original question, I don't know if that can be done. Others more knowledgable than me will have to answer that question.

I operate on a large BES and also have biz. I don't think there is anyway to do what you are suggesting. They are 2 very different processes.

I tried setting "Send Email To Handheld" to No, but wireless calendar and contacts would not sync.

In Filter, for the "when no filters apply" option set "Do not forward messages to device".

I tried sending an email I received through BES to my BIS account. Still no HTML. I gave heard that BES without the html capabilities actually strips out the code. So the morale of the story is that any email that does through BES but may end up in BIS won't work because of the above.

I'd recommend what djm2 suggested and ask your BES Admin (nicely <g>) to apply SP6 to the BES. I did this to my BES last week and now my html e-mail works great

If you are not joking...

BES = BlackBerry Enterprise Server
BIS = BlackBerry Internet Service

Differences - vast - look at the BlackBerry website.

why not get a 3rd party app like empower pro or bbsmart html viewer? IMHO, they are much more robust than the BES html app anyhow. They both offer free trials to see if you like them.
