Default How do I remotely remove BES from user's Curve?

Please Login to Remove!

I have an employee who was unexpectedly terminated and was not able to retrieve her Curve. How do I remotely disable and uninstall all the service books/settings associated with my BES and the company? This is her personal phone so I do not want to erase all data.

You'll need to in order to effectively remove your BES information. When employees are using their own personal phone on a corporate BES, they should expect that their device may be wiped by the admin at any time for any reason.

Select user in BES -- IT Admin -- Erase data and disable handheld.

So if I erase the data and disable it, how does she enable it again for personal use?

There would be nothing to enable.
The disable in 'Erase and Disable Handheld' is nothing more than disconnecting the device from the BES.

The user would simply integrate their personal email accounts using BIS.

(Depending on the version of the handheld OS on the device, and also dependent on how your BES is configured... the user may need to manually remove the IT Policy from the device before they can actually have unrestricted use of their own device.)

You could remove the IT Policy first, then erase the device, could you not - - as a matter of courtesy?

That may depend on the 'mood' of the user after they were unexpectedly terminated....

Yeah, it's more fun to have the user come here and ask how to get the d*** IT policy off their phone

Sometimes...

...but other times, you want to be rid of the person and not have to deal with them ever again.
