i have 8110 and thinking of getting 8310 (with Att). I have upgraded my os from 4 to 5. My question is are the new os the same? Do the new os for each one have the same capabilities?

Are you planning on getting the 8310 OS on your 8110? That won't work, nor would it get loaded. OSs are model-specific, meaning an 8310 OS would only work on an 8310 device and that's it.

Yes I know that. What I am asking is are they the same feature wise. I will get the actual 8310.

No, they are not the same, hence the different numbers.

I don't think OS 5.xx is out yet. You must mean OS 4.5.

On the 8310 4.5 is substantially different than OS 4.2.

On the 8110, OS 4.5 is slightly different than OS 4.3.

Let me start over. My question is about the new OS 4.5 I have 8110 and have upgraded to 4.5 been thinking of getting a 8310. Are the features and capablities the same? I know the features for 8110 but not for 8310. What are the features and capabilities for 8310? Just trying to see if it is worth getting 8310

the only discernible difference between those two models IF both have OS 4.5 loaded will be the size of the device and the QWERTY vs SureType keyboard.

yes i have. but i just wanted to know if the only difference after upgrading both devices would be the size. JSanders answered the question. probably will get the 8310 since i dont have a need for wi-fi. but can you remove the wi-fi and add gps? is it true that t-mobile has more memory than att on the curve?

No, you can't remove the WiFi and add the GPS, those are hardware related items.

ALL models, regardless of carrier, are identical in device memory on board. You can add memory for media, beyond the device memory.

Not Quite

The Verizon Curve has 96MB on-board memory, instead of 64

The 8310 comes with GPS, not wifi.
