Default free space on 8110

Please Login to Remove!

I have read and followed the instructions on freeing up memory for the device. But when I deleted the preloaded ringtones my profiles did not work. So I put them back but would really like to take them off for more space. What am I doing wrong? Also with the languages, do I need 2 delete all of them or what? Different threads and post say different things. Just want 2 get as much free space I can get. Do the new os take care of the memory leak for the 8110?

Thanks.

As a start don't delete all the ringtones. Your BB need at least the ones that are identified in each of your profiles and sub profiles for each ring or notification.

I have found that 4.5.xxx.55 freed up a lot of memory on my 8100.

I got rid of BB maps and use google maps, MDS applications, and a few others.

I have telenav, lexspell, google maps, and the extra media files all loaded in and have over 20 MB of memory.

See this wonderful step-by-step guide by John Clark on how to maximize free space on your pearl.

I just tried it today on my 8110 and worked great for me. Also upgraded to 4.5.0.55.

EDIT: Apparently, I can't post a link since this is my first post (10 is the minimum). So go to General Blackberry Discussions and see the second sticky.

Hope this helps,
