I find that I am having to press 2x or harder to get my trackball to "click" open an app. Any idea what the cause could be?

If you have not changed the trackball sensitivity settings - I surmise your Ballz may need a cleaning. There is a post at the top of this thread that gives detailed info.

how do you change the settings? i'm pretty new to the whole bb thing and my curve is less than 1 month old. is it setting in screen/keyboard with the slow/fast/normal option?

If it's only a month old it sounds like you may have gotten something in it. Been to the beach lately??..lol. There is a detailed thread on how to clean it here. I wouldn't change the sensitivity, you need to get the gunk out of the ball or it will get worse over time and a month old is too young to be losing it.

Screen/Keyboard.......scroll down......you will see the adjustment pads....
