I downloaded one of the betas and the Desktop Software can't find any upgrades. I have OS 4.2 right now and I've upgraded to a beta before but downgraded. I installed OS 4.5 to my pc then i removed the vendor file. I even changed from Desktop software 4.6 to 4.5. And still nothing. Anyone know what could be the problem?

I was trying to try this out on my other pc but its out of commission right now.

You sure you're using the right OS file?? ie 8310 for your 8310? And deleted/renamed the vendor.xml from \program files\common files\research in motion\apploader?

yep i downloaded the beta for 8320. it even says it when i install it to the pc.

Dude, you've got to be a little more specific...

You said you upgraded and then downgraded..? What happened.?

Why don't you start from the top so that those here can have a little more insight into what exactly is the nature of your problem.

i thought i was very clear.

But I downgraded because 4.5.0.46 made my phone unable to receive sms texts. Now I'm trying to get 4.5.0.52 but Desktop Manager wont find any new updates.

Ok. It seems that your DM and your OS it out of sync, if I may call it that.

I suggest the following, its a bit of work, but it should get you going.

1. Remove all existing versions of OS and DM.

2. Reinstall DM 4.5 and the appropriate OS. Both of these can be found on the Blackberry website. Sorry I am not at my PC, so I can't remember the links.

3. Install the dm FIRST. Then, install the OS to your PC.

4. Find that pesky vendor.xml file and remove it.

5. Plug in your device and and it will prompt to upgrade.

Voila, you're good to go !

Dude, trust me, if you follow the instructions in the sticky, you CAN'T go wrong.
