Firstly, hello to all. I'm new in the community and I just bought a Blackberry Curve 8250, which I am enjoying thus far. I have however a problem which seems to be common among some users, as I've seen in the Internet.

Through my ISP, I have wi-fi in my house which is supplied through a Thomson TG787 router. When setting the connection through my Blackberry (I tried both by the wireless search, and by manualing searching it), I'm able to set it up correctly on the phone. However, the "Wifi" symbol in the screen will stay grey at all times, and the edge connection is being used instead.

I've tried all alternatives I've seen as common solutions: forcing a reset by taking out the battery, changing security settings in the router, but I still can't use Wi-Fi on my mobile.

Any hints?

Does your carrier require that you have a BB data plan before pushing the WiFi service books? I am not familiar with the carrier "asd" as noted in your profile. I know some carriers do - for example AT&T and Verizon.
