Question Confused AT&T User

Please Login to Remove!

Help.... I dont know what is best. I have the option to pickup an unlocked 8320 or a new AT&T 8310. I dont know what to stick with... I have the 8300, love it...and dont really miss the GPS except when I am occasionaly travelling.

Is it worth it to use a unlocked 8320 or get the 8310 with GPS?

I know that on the 8320 I will not be able to use the my faves or hotspot at home....

Thanks,

Wirelessly posted (8700g: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Well you know he only real feature difference between the two models. Your biigest need should prevail--WiFi or GPS. I would rather have the GPS.

Default Another Question?

If I do keep the 8320 and unlock it....how can I register this as my BIS device?
As far as I know if I put the pin number and imei to update my device, bis comes back and says device is unauthorized...

Any help?

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can register a device with BIS until it is purchased and a blackberry plan purchased for it. Until then, there wouldn't be any reason to have a BIS account.

There should be no reason, if you have a BIS plan with AT&T and the 8320 is unlocked, that you can't put your AT&T sim in the device and enter the pin/imei into your AT&T BIS account. Your BIS mail should work with no issues.

With the 8320 you'll get wifi (but no UMA access on AT&T.)

I tried putting the pin and imei into my current AT&T bis account...it said this device was not authorized for this service provider...something to that effect.

I guess unlocked or not, I cant use a t-mobile BB unlocked to get personal email.... I know BES email will work fine.

I've never known that to be an issue. If that's really the case it would be new. My guess is once you put your sim into an unlocked BB then you'll be able to change the PIN on the BIS site. I could be wrong though.
