Default Verdict on opera mini 4 so far?

Please Login to Remove!

Is anybody else like me and prefer opera mini 3 over 4 beta? I find that the new full page navigaton in beta 4 is more like a little treat than something actually useful. And the fit to width option aint as good as in 3 either. Feedback guys/gals

I like it. The full screen version is kind of a tease though. It would be nice if you could see the screen more clearly. You can never tell what you are zooming in on (as far as text is concerned) until you click on it. Works great on fit to width mode/setting.

It's still a little buggy. I am unable to login in to ebay with Opera 4 but have no probs with Opera 3.1. I think with time the probs will be worked out and it will be an awesome browser. Compared to the BB Browser, Opera rocks.

Its iiiiight. Still a few bugs, and not noticably faster. Me personally, I like the BB browser. Opera 4 would look much better on a bigger screen.

Bugs I've found so far:

Some forms don't work well. Had to use I'm Feeling Lucky on Google a few times because typing in something and hitting search brought me back the google page with no search results. Sometimes logging in to certain web pages doesn't take either.

The zoom in gets stuck sometimes. I'll zoom in to click on a link, then the new page that loads up is still zoomed in with no way to zoom out. My biggest pet peeve so far.

Screen sometimes locks halfway when using the menu. It slides over, but part of the other screen will stay until I scroll up or down with the pearl.

On a personal note I also miss the customized searches on the main page like Wiki and dictionary.com. And could we please replace the horrible yahoo search with google? I'm sure there's some legal issues there but it'd be so much nicer.

Desktop View (not sure if it's on the Pearl) in the built-in browser is more useful IMO. I don't understand how anyone could expect to be able to view and read a full webpage rendered on a QVGA screen. Even 640x480 can be difficult to use these days.

I just downloaded Opera mini 3 for the first time, and so far have really liked it. I avoided the beta for 4 because I am running the Rogers 4.2.1 OS and I read on here that 4 doesn't play well with the newer software versions.

Anyone else like the beta version?

I just installed it yesterday and find it unbearable. I like that its similar to the i phone for the internet but it has way too many bugs. Especially on forums. On my sports forum I have to reload the page about 5 time just to get a reply in. I get a lot of looping and errors, or a lot of the time it just never loads.

Whenever I want to bookmark a page I have to manually type in the web address and the title, unlike 3.1.

Hopefully when the full version comes out all this is fixed.

For now I decided to go back to 3.1

IMO, I like the 4 Beta...

But personally, I will be sticking to the 3 series until the full release.

I do not like the inability in the Beta 4 release to make text "Small".

I like to fit as much text onto the screen as possible,
and without this feature, I hate the page length with Regular/Mid size text.

Just my opinion
