JiveTalk is definitely worth the $20 (I'm currently on the 30 day trial, but I'm considering buying.) If you're serious about IMs all other programs are TRASH. JiveTalk is the truth!

I think he asked for a "free" one, or that is the one I would have recommended, unless he needed a translator too.

I agree, jivetalk is worth the 20.00.

you could also try www.blackberry.com/aim from your phone and see if it will install for you.

True but none the less free and as he is also a cingular customer he cant get the aim from rim unless he alters the service books, just like i said on another post you posted on.

Smile You can now on AT&T

Yesterday I used the Cingular MediaNet browser on my Pearl, Go to Mail and Messaging linkand then click on Mobile IM, the browser will send you straight to the download link. You can download the application from AT&T and you will get the IM Messaging application. you can log into MSN, AIM and Yahoo. It seems to work fine and it's free. I do agree with everyone here even for $20., Jivetalk is wonderful.

I've used jivetalk since I got my Blackberry, and as the rest of you prolly a little upset that even after being beta testing it for months, they are going to strip it away unless we pay. Now, yeah, it is only 20$, but if you EVER thing about getting another BB it'll be another 20$ for it again. You should pay the 30$ so you can use it on multiple BBs.

I just downloaded the app from ATT and after the download failing a few times, I finally gave up. Effin' invalid COD!

Now, if the OZ IM client anything like the one I had on TMO, it'll use text messages, so make sure you have a big txt package if you are going to use it.

I dont think any one here is upset, in keeping with topic with the original poster, he asked for free.
Edit: oh and I also gave up trying to download it from rim. :(
