Unhappy 8800 resets when placed on table, desk, etc.

I have a weird issue - whenever, I place the phone on my desk, car seat, etc., the phone resets. The screen goes blank, the red LED comes on, then when I press another button, it starts back up with an hour glass.

I can recreate the issue just be dropping it from a few inches onto the passenger car seat. I thought the battery might be lose so I added a piece of padding (folded up paper) between the battery and battery cover.

I don't want to go through the hassle of replacing it again - I've done searches to no avail - has anyone else experienced this??

Thanks.

Sounds like the battery might be loose in the the compartment. Check that.

if it's not a loose battery, perhaps something with the battery contacts or the battery itself.

what happens if you repeat the test while it's charging?

Sounds like a problem to me that requires replacement...do it now before they stick you with a refurb...
