Question Personal E-mail Problem (Yahoo!)

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I recently upgraded from a Pearl to 8800 and transfered the configuration.
The 8800 picked up my yahoo account (it shows next to the work account) but apparently not the account settings since nothing gets pulled by the application.
I would like to reconfigure the Yahoo account but there is no such a thing as personal e-mail settings and the "option" page does not seem to apply to personal e-mail.

Am I missing somthing obvious?
Thanks

jcjollant, you need to go to your carrier's BIS website, login there, and look for setup internet email on your blackberry, or something like that. There will be a place to change your device PIN and IMEI. You must do this for your setup to push mail to your new 8800.

Pulling Yahoo! e-mail worked fine on the Pearl. I think it's really something to be configured on the 8800.

there is a blackberry setup folder. Select that and then there is a personal email set up folder. It should walk you through the process. You may have to delete the one you already have.

Ok, I answered your question. As long as your BIS setup is trying to push mail to your former PIN number...you will not be getting your yahoo mail on the new device. (and they are tied together, BIS uses your PIN to identify "where" to push the yahoo mail).

Actually that was true on the Pearl. The 8800 does not have the "Blackberry Setup" folder. Is this something you can activate (it's not hidden). Once I have that folder I should be all set.

I failed to mention that I switched providers between devices. However, I disabled personal e-mail w/ Cingular (Pearl)

JC, I do suppose that would be helpful know, however, again, go to your carrier's BIS setup website as stated and set the personal email there. If the option is not available on the BB itself, you must do it at the carrier site.

Do you understand that?

I have an 8800 with Cingular and I have a blackberry configuration folder. It was not hidden either but you may have hidden it accidentally. Click show all folders.
