I am newbie in "BB world", and got 8700g 1 week ago.

I found similar threads on this SMS' date/time issue, but I couldn't find the answer...

Thus allow me to repeat again here, hopefully someone can help me out.

-- Question:
How to know the date/time the sender SENT the SMS?
(Currently, my BB displays the date/time it RECEIVED the SMS)


-- use case #1:
I power-off my BB on 14-Apr-2007 at 11pm.
Charlie sent me an SMS 15-Apr-2007 at 2am.
I power-on my BB on 15-Apr-2007 at 8am.
I received Charlie's SMS, and my BB displays it as 15-Apr-2007 at 8am.

My previous phone was SonyEricsson. It displays the same thing as my BB, BUT...there is a menu "Detail" to see the time Charlie sent it.

-- use case #2:
I insert my SIM card on 15-Apr-2007 at 9pm.
This SIM card stores several old SMS in it (e.g.: SMS of 10-Jan-2007)
My BB displays them all as SMS of 15-Apr-2007 at 9pm.


FYI,s/w version is v4.10.284 (platform 2.0.0.120)

aside from checking your bill to see if that displays the "real" delivery time or asking the sender, no unfortunitly there is no way to tell on the blackberry itself
