Sometimes I need to copy a string of words or blocks of text to another application or just move it to another place in an email. Is there a combination of keys to do that? I've experimented with some combos but haven't found it.

go to where the txt is and hold num and scroll up or down with the scroll wheel.

or go to the end of the txt you want to copy and press the scroll wheel. Hit select and scroll up with the scroll wheel. Press the scroll wheel again and hit copy

You can hold down either shift key and scroll. NUM lock and CAP lock are secondary functions of the shift keys.

Actually, if you hold shift and scroll it will select text character-by-character. If you press shift once and scroll it will select text line-by-line.
