Go to Messages, Options, General Options, and you should see SMS and Email Inboxes option. From there you have the ability to select if you want them separated, combined, or let the theme dictate how those messages are handled.

Btw, welcome to the forums!

Since when has this feature been available?

Currently available on the 8700c v4.2 OS upgrade, not aware if it is available on the Pearl or not but if it is, that is where you would find it. Worth a shot either way.

I asked because I just upgraded to the TIM OS to get this function, and I was going to be ticked if it was available on the Cingular OS. The OP is with T-Mo and I don't think it was a function of that OS either. S/he may have to upgrade to the TIM Italy version or use a theme that does this.

This is only available as of the latest TIM 4.2.1.66/102 OS version. But as that one has too many bugs (see the long sticky thread on this topic), I would advise to wait a little longer. Alternatively, play around with the different themes on prior Pearl OS releases. Some combine text message with email messages in the Inbox, others separate them out. In order to unlock all available 'factory' themes for the Pearl, download the appropriate Blackberry.alx file (and OS version if needed) from this thread here:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/ring...-4-2-only.html

EDIT: What I meant was that the option to separate text from email messages for all themes is only available as of the TIM release. Prior releases have this feature theme-dependent only.

And a 2nd vote for cannondale0815's post....

If you do not want to upgrade the OS then some themes allow this... Try different themes...

You can set up a save search with an alternate key.

For instance, my "alt 2" shows only text messages.
