This damn thing is giving me a headache. Maybe someone can help:

I upgraded a user from a 7250 to a 8703e. Before the upgrade I did a manual backup of all the handheld data saving it to a file. I transfered the user account to the new HH and tried to do a selective restore. I found that some of the data fields were available for restore and others were not. One that seems to totally unavailable is the password keeper contents.

The user stored about 2 dozen passwords in this utility and now I can't get them back.

Needless to say I'm not very popular with this guy.

Can anyone offer some help? I can imagine this is by design as a security measure but surely there must be a way to import the contents.

Do you have a spare 7250 you can try to move the data on to and then have the user manually copy it? Maybe it's an issue with the data not working with the 8703. That's my un-technical idea.

You have to perform a full restore. There's no otherway to restore the data in Password Keeper.

I had a similar issue with a user and ended up restoring the data to a virtual blackberry to get to it.

You can do the selective restore BEFORE you active the device. Not sure why but some of the databases are like that (Password Keeper, Address Book, etc).

Wipe it, do the selective restore, and then activate it.
