yeah but the question is what is the 8320 going to have... An earlier report showed that it wasn't going to have GPS but will have wi-fi... what are the other specs?

From what I can tell (unless my eyes deceive me) the 8320 is a QWERTY keyboard....I wonder if t-mo will offer an upgrade price on it?

I really hope that TMO will have the model with GPS on it. I like the form factor and WiFi. I really don't care about the camera but would love GPS.

I just hope that T-Mo gets SOMETHING new, and soon!!! As for the GPS/camera debate, IMHO, the whole gps thing really doesn't matter. I mean, I usually know where I am. I do have a nav system in the car, and when I don't know where I am going, it helps. In the past, I used a map. Also, I find that I probably shouldn't be messing with my Berry while driving anyway. Therefore, for ME, the GPS in my phone doesn't make sense. I would like a camera, however. Yes, when I know I am going to be taking photos, I'll take my camera, but there are times when I am out and about (and usually aware of my exact location, sans GPS ), when I want to take an impromptu picture. This is a situation that it would be helpful.
Still, at the end of the day, neither is important. As long as I can make and receive calls, send and receive emails, and have access to my calendar, task list, address book and stock quotes, I'll be alright.

I do not see how the 8320 would not be for T-Mo. With Cingular getting the 8800 and now 8300 in a few weeks, it has got to be T-Mo's turn!

TMo really needs to hurry up. I wouldn't mind if they skipped the 8800 and went right to the 8320.

I want it all: WiFi, GPS, and a camera that takes both stills and video. For TMO. Now.

Releasing the 8300 on Cingular's network so soon after the 8800 simply wouldn't make much sense from a financial standpoint. Why would RIM present 2 very similar products on the same network? You'd essentially be cannibalizing sales of the 8800. Adding WiFi and/or camera on an 8820 is more logical.
Believe me, I'd love to have the 8300 on Cingular but TMo just makes more sense.

I would prefer the 8320 without GPS. I have a car unit that's much more effective. It's much slower on the BB cause it loads maps OTA and drains the life out of the battery.

I agree.... I mean really... Rim has gave Cing the 8800, and the red Pearl withing two months of eachother. Cing is getting the I phone in about 3 months and the N75 from Nokia. It has to be tmo turn, because Cing is loading it up with phones and no one else has release anything. Not a single carrier. Like BBG said it only has tmo theme loaded on there.. It might be near production model.

Personally I think this three different version crap is BS. If they do indeed do this 3 version deal, then they should all be released at the same time. Don't make the consumer wait for a device even longer, doesn't seem necessary. If anything I could see two versions, one with camera, one without. Everything else should be included plain and simple. WiFi, memory card, GPS, etc should all be standard.
I personally will not buy the 8320. The only way I'm buying a new BB is if it has everything, not some dumbed down version.

Amen brother! I completely agree. If you don't need the camera, then buy the Blackberry without it. If you don't need WiFi/GPS, then don't activate it. I'm curious to see how far apart the price differences will be among these 3 models. If the gap is truly significant, if it costs that much more to integrate WiFi/GPS, then maybe I'll accept the 3-model lineup.

The only real issue here I think is the camera for security purposes for some businesses. Above and beyond that, the way cell phones are advancing, WiFi and GPS is almost a requirement in a high end phone. There is no reason what so ever to not have these functions in all blackberries from this point on. I would love for someone to give me a legitiment argument about having three models and pulling and adding different features all on the same model. There isn't one. It's a stupid way to market what could be a great feature packed Blackberry device. Hell, to me, I can't think of any reason why the business world WOULDN'T need GPS (lots of business people using Blackberries travel) and WiFi (the ability to stay connected either by phone or e-mail when not in a service area).

My real thing is that I wont buy a bb to replace to pearl until we have 3G. I dont see the point in continuing to upgrade until I can get something that is 3G

Have you bought a car recently? There is the base model, the LE edition, and the XLS. Some people don't want to pay the extra $10K for the sunroof, leather trim, pin striping, 10-speaker stereo, GPS navigation system, 20-inch rims, etc. Some people only want the cloth seats, the am/fm stereo, the 4-cylinder engine, etc. It's a matter of offering choice. Price vs. features. I've seen posts by people on this board who bought a pearl and haven't signed up for the BIS. They just like the phone and multimedia features and don't use the email (silly, I think, but who am I to judge). I think it's a great idea to offer the choice of whether you want to pay extra for WiFi or GPS or camera. More people will choose the Blackberry if they can customize the features to what they actually want and will use.

It is nice to have so many choices. You must also understand that most have no need or desire for 3G. For what I use a Blackberry for, 3G wil not get my email or phone calls any faster. It simply provide no better service.

This is a cell phone, not a car. In an ever changing and upgrading market in which BB is constantly behind in, at this point there really isn't much point in having THREE models. At least if they're going to have three total models, put them all in stores at the same time, don't give us one version, a couple months later another, and a couple months later another. No point in that.
