Default Getting someone else's email?

Please Login to Remove!

Bought a used BB off Ebay, got a used sim card from our BES admin and I keep getting someone else's email even though I removed the service book for that person's email. I get my corporate email and have the correct phone number, but I'd like to stop getting his email, especially since he gets so much porn spam:(.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Should be able to go into the BIS setup icon and remove any unwanted accounts.

Wirelessly posted (8700g: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Yea, the PIN on the phone is still assigned to the seller. He needs to have his carrier his account or go to his former BIS setup and delete the account.

Call your provider and explain the situation to them. If the previous owner was with them, they should fix it.

If not, you'll need to contact the previous owner (you have their email address!) and ask them to contact their old provider to turn off the PIN.

I'm seeing this more and more often on BB forums. It happened to my wife about a year ago when she bought a BB third hand and started receiving emails from the original owner (the 2nd owner never set up BIS). It took weeks to sort it out mostly because the original owner was on t-Mobile and she's on Cingular.

A common issue with buying a used BB.

It doesn't matter if you delete the BIS service book as it will eventually be pushed back to the device. The old BIS account has to be deleted and-or unassociated with your PIN.

And a 3rd vote for takeshi. And the PIN/IMEI must be released for you to use.
