Default Auto More??

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Can anyone tell me whether what I am observing on my BlackBerry 8800 is a bug, or the designed functionality of the unit?

Here is the deal. I have my Email-preferences set to "Auto More". This appears to work with inbound messages that arrive in my Inbox. Just as I want it to, it downloads all of the test of the message etc. without me having to go in and tell it to go get "more".

However, I observe that when I have sent an item via my MS Outlook program on one of my desktop PC's, the mail item will sync to the Sent Items folder on the BlackBerry, but only the first few sentences, and then that option to download "more" is there.

When I have composed and sent an E-mail from the BlackBerry handset, the sent E-mail is also available in my Sent Items folder, but the whole E-mail is present.

How is "Auto More" supposed to work? Is it only supposed to automatically download "more" of incoming messages only? Or is it supposed to work on ALL messages being synced to the BlackBerry?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have not seen it work on sent messages. I guess the developers assumed that if you sent it, you know what it says.

FWIW, I'm noticed the same behavior as sent items. Since even less of the original message is shown (in the case of sent items) I'm going to agree with the others that this is behavior by design as intended by RIM. Personally I feel this to be a good trade-off in terms of device memory and data usage. YMMV.
