Apologies if this has been asked before, I did a search and couldn't come up with an answer.

So my question is: on an 8700 BB can you assign different ringtones to different phone numbers/email addresses so a different ringtone plays for each different email/phone call you receive.

I.E. Ringtone A for Person A and Ringtone B for Person B.

In case nobody answered you....

You can definitely assign different ringtones for different contacts. Within the Profiles-->Advanced screen you can create an exception.

You can also do this from the Address Book. Scroll to a contact and select Edit. Once "in" the contact, press the click wheel and you'll see an item in the list to "Add Custom Phone Tune."


For emails, I'm not aware of a way to do this. About the only thing I can think of is the different notifications for Level 1 messages vs. regular messages. You can setup a filter to make emails from a particular email address (or multiple addresses) come through as Level 1 messages. Then, in Profiles, assign a different notification for Level 1 messages.
