Default 8800 and unlocking for T-Mobile

Please Login to Remove!

So I'm assuming it would be best for us T-Mobile people to just wait for the T-Mobile branded unit since the Cingular version (even unlocked) won't have WiFi correct? Maybe someone will be able to enable the wifi on the Cingular and SIM unlock it and T-Mobile users could use it....

Nobody said that the T-Mobile-Version of the 8800 will have WiFi. It is just rumours.
I would expect that we will see an additional device that is not called 8800 and has WiFi built-in.

The T-mobile 8800 will have Wi-fi. Almost guaranteed due to their upcoming UMA services that will be coming out.

Just speculating but remember the 7130. When Cingular released that tmobile went on to release the pearl. So its not unprecedented that Cingular will release an exclusive and then tmobile release a device later with additional features. We do know there is a 8800 due with wifi (we've seen pics) so I think I'll wait.

That's more of a matter of Cingular taking its sweet time releasing the 7130 than TMO acting in retaliation...

Nothing is guaranteed but I've also heard the rumor that the Tmobile version will have WiFi. Let's hope so.

uzykc - no one here has unlock software. Please contact your carrier or one of the commercial unlockers.

I am using the 8800 on TMO now and nothing is any different. GPS works great. The only thing that is missing is my ability to update my myFaves. But I can do that online and I don't do it often so its not a big deal.
