Cingular Blackberry Warranty Exchange Phones...
Please Login to Remove!
Hey guys... I've been having trouble with my 7130c and have ordered a replacement phone. Have any of you done this, and if so, are the replacement phones new or refurbished? The guy on the phone had no idea.
Thanks!

I don't have Cingular, but I can tell you with T-Mobile you may get either one. I'm going to guess that Cingular probably follows the same practice.

I had to replace a phone on Cingular. They said that they were going to send a refurb phone, but I got a brand new one.
I would expect in most cases the phones are refurbished.

Every time Cingular has replaced one of my phones (many many times), I've always received a refurbished phone. It comes in an original box with all of the protective coating and manuals, but it's still a refurb. The only ones I've ever had a problem with are Razrs (suk).

it seems to be 9 times out of 10 to be refurb unless the phone just came out and they dont have refurb stock yet. we have 4 lines and need warranty exchanges too often it seems. the 7130c has been one of the most reliable ones we have ever had. Our refurb 7130c worked better then the original 7310c, good luck!

Thanks so much for the responses. The phone actually got here today! I'm guessing it is a refurb, but it looks in pretty great shape. I'll mess with it tonight!

My wife and I both had to get warranty exchange 8700Cs from Cingular. We both ended up with new phones, not refurbs.

yeah its purely luck of the draw...all depending on what is in stock at the time that you need replacement.

Options > Security Options > General Settings
Go into the menu, and choose wipe handheld. This will remove all personal data.

Hey, I'm wondering if the 'wipe handheld' setting is in a different place on the 7130c because I'm having trouble finding it?
