Hi,

I did a search for this, but I didn't find anything. Anyways, I have the 8100 and I have the password enabled on the device. However, every few days it tells me the password is expired and it wants a new one. This is my personal blackberry. It's not on a BES and there's no IT Security Policy on it. Any idea how to prevent the password from expiring?

Have you had the BB since new out of the box? That does sound like an IT policy. There is no place to set that on the BB itself. Under Options >Security Options >General Settings >scroll to the bottom of the page. There is no reference to IT policy at all?

I've had this from new out of the box. However, I did accidentally sync it with my work blackberry which does have a security policy. I managed to remove that IT policy by following the removal instructions listed within the forum here.

I went to Options >Security Options >General Settings and there's no reference to IT policy at all.

Any other thoughts? This seems pretty strange.

im using 7105t. firmware v4.1.0.309. Phone is used for voice only.

there is nothing in Options >Security Options >General Settings related to BES or any security policies. Every two weeks my password expires and usually in the worst moment - extremely annoying.

Please don't post anything of "I don't have this issue/Never happened to me"

Any constructive information on this issue would be appreciated.

Since you haven't found a solution, I suggest a total wipe with JL_Cmder. Load everything back from scratch manually, then sync your contacts back on.
