Can the blackberry.alx file affect reception. I installed the one for the new cingular os an my phone and it seems like the signal has gone down. Any one have any ideas?

I'm sure there can be some programming in the blackberry.alx file that has to do with signal reception. However, using the blackberry.alx file with the unlocked themes won't effect that in any way.

.alx stands for 'application loader xml' - it's just a very small txt file that tells the blackberry what it's installing. there is nothing in it to affect anything. it sounds like you installed a new upgrade?

I installed the themes file but it is a tower around in my area because someone at my job was having trouble with her razr. So its a tower issue not the .alx thank goodness.

Yeah it worried me. I'm good now. Signal still sucks though. Wonder what happened.
