I am trying to help a friend who currently synchs his 8700 using a cradle. No BES. He uses ACT as his contact manager and synchs it with the BB in cradle.
He wants to move to an Exchange Server and synch wirelessly, using BES, but wants his ACT Contacts to be in the Blackberry Address Book, not Outlook Contacts. In other words, he uses ACT as his contact manager and does not want to use Outlook.
Questions:
(1) Is it possible to have the ACT Contacts synch wirelessly using BES, rather than the Outlook contacts.
(2) Instead, is it possible to synch everything EXCEPT Contacts using BES, and have only the ACT Contacts (not email, calendar, etc) synch with the BB when in the cradle?
The way to sync ACT! 6.0 or later wirelessly with a Blackberry (with or without a BES) is to use Handheld Contact. It will also allow an admin to control the ACT! data on 50+ users from a single server.
Go to glcomputing.com.au select either ACT! 7/8/9 or ACT! 5/6 and then select Handheld Contact
