I looked around, but didn't see it. Perhaps you could provide a link? Thanks.

Blackberry 8700 handheld software v4.2

There you go.. I haven't tried it. But some people have said that there are hardly any new things beside the media icon and the bluetooth icon which are both generic.. kinda weird.

Just tried installing with no luck. Got an error. Some over at pinstack have installed with success.

Going back to Bharti.

installed the new 4.2 OS and it works great (so far)...
some new features I've explored until now:
  • improved Media management
...new Application Icon called "Media" available
which enables the user to access pictures and ringtones from the device memory.
You can also manage your "media" via Desktop Manager, create folders, store
files and use those stored files as attachments
  • set-up different profiles for each message account (don't know if this feature was available before)
  • preview for Themes (but it always says "no preview available"...)

...found another feature:
  • it's now possible to associate a picture to a contact

Looks like he took down the file (perhaps only temporarily?).

Anyone hosting it?

EDIT: Meh.. Link's still fubar. Anyone grab this before the link died?

Something doesn't seem right about this. He paid $100 for the software and is accepting donations from those who download it. Could be legit, but it does make you wonder...

The version mentioned on the website (v55) is about three months old. Don't get too excitied. It is bug filled - so much so that I understand some people went back to 4.1.

Because he is obviously not very smart... As soon as he took a red cent for it, he opened himself up to thousands of dollars in legal fees if RIM decides to make an example out of him..

I got a kick out of his 'once it reaches a $100' he will shut down the paypal... LOLOLOLOL..

It doesn't sound like he's charging for the OS. With that said, he is taking 'donations'. It's very doubtful that he paid for the OS, or atleast not anywhere near $100. The version he is offering has been going around for almost 2-3 months now and has since been replaced by a few newer versions that address some bug fixes (much the same as the OS 4.2 for the 8100).

One other thing, N8DBB (of PinStack fame and leadership) is a moron.
