Angry Holster Mode on 8100

Please Login to Remove!

Just did a search and I don't think it was talked about here yet...

Here's my question:

I wanna turn off the holster mode on my Pearl completely, is it possible? I got a regular pouch that I really enjoy using and it has a magnet in the middle of it. The phone goes in sideway into the holster. When I take out the phone when it rings, the magnet goes close to the part on Pearl that activates holster mode, and it turns the ringing off and then after a couple secs after it realizes that magnet is not there it starts to ring again. REALLY ANNOYING!!! Is there a way to turn it completely off so it would not react to magnet being next to it or is it just not possible? Thanks in advance!

Is it possible for you to take the magnet out?

Here's how to deactive the magnet functionality (while retaining the magnet):

The holster actions for Phone, Email, SMS, etc are completely customizable. Thus, you can assign the holster actions to be identical to the non-holster actions. The result would be that the case's magnet would have no effect.

This essentially deactivates holster mode from the end user's perspective (holster mode would identical behavior as non-holster mode). In the future, you could always modify holster settings if you get a BB designed case.

They are set to be the same, but the thing is... when the magnet slides by the phone the screen turns off and the ringing stops, and then it goes on...

It could also be that when you take the pearl out of the holster, the trackball is getting moved. That will also stop the ringing and is the exact problem that I had. It wasn't the magnet.

To minimize that you go into the options and set the sensitivity on the trackball to be about 30. That works for me.

Is your keypad locked?? If not, the pearl part of the phone gets moved & stops the ringer.
