Default Vibe and Ring

Please Login to Remove!

How do you set up the phone to vibe and ring? I'm a newbe to BB but I've only seen the Profiles section and that doesn't seem to do it. I can turn on vibe only by pressing and holding the # key but that's all I've been able to find.

Also, I have loaded a bunch of MP3's and even set them to be ringers but i cannot seem to find them when I am setting up ringers for people in my contact list.

Can anyone help? Sorry if it's a newbe question but I searced for vibe and ring and could not find anything...

Cheers!

To set it to vibe and ring go to profiles and then advanced (at the bottom). From there you will see the profiles. The the menu button on the normal profile, or whichever you want to edit, and hit edit. You will then see a bunch of categories. You can change the behavior of each of those. Go to phone for instance and edit that. Change it to tone+vibe. You can also change the ringer.

Goto Profiles, then down to "advanced" - select the profile you wanna edit and press the menu button and then edit, then you can change it up however ya want. Or create a "New Profile" to your liking.

Gotta make sure the mp3s are in the ringtones folder, not the music folder. When you edit the contacts and add custom ringer, it'll only list whats in ringer folder on your device's mem, preloaded or media card.

Just to save you another post... Just be aware that vibe and ring is really "vibe then ring" it will not simultaneously ring and vibrate. Also pay attention to the selected "number of vibrations" as it will vibrate that many times before it rings once. So if you have it on 3 which I believe is the default, you might roll the pearl and silence the call before it even rings... Poor programing IMHO but don't get me wrong I absolutely love this thing!

I think you use the # key and hold it for a couple of seconds

It will vibrate, then ring.... you need to let the call last longer

Yes this is a common rant and rave. In the rest of your life, you want to vibrate then ring so why do you want them both at the same time on your phone.

I have yet to buy a MicroSD card for my Pearl yet. Just haven't gotten aorund to it. If I do buy one and put all of my ringtones on there will the phone still recognize them and play them off of the card for incoming calls?

Forgot about this solution which I realized tonight.

"Webmessenger Alerts"

This product for a mere $20 one time will give you RING and VIBRATE (boy that was fun to type). Other RING and VIBRATE toys cost much more.
