So I purchased mine through Tmobile like everyone else for use on the BES server here at my work. So when i was choosing the plan i told him about the BES server, and he asked me if i needed the enterprise upgrade.... I was like, i've never heard of that, why would i need it? He didnt explain it well at all, and said to me, "dont worry about it actually, most people don't need it."

It was basically a 10 dollar addon per month to the blackberry data plan that i was purchasing... But i didnt get it and i'm having problem syncing my email with the BES server... Has anyone else heard of this addon and did they need to purchase it??

you need the Enterprise service plan to connect to a BES.

Or to use the BlackBerry Redirector (on T-Mobile).

I'm on CDMA, so nowhere near this plan, but from what I saw on T-Mo's web site, you're supposed to have it.

Apparently, their data system was supposed to differentiate between BIS users and BES users, and it probably doesn't.

But that's just my impression from what I saw on their site.

You need that $10 upgrade before it will work with BES. T-Mobile don't explain it well no.
