Question Richmond, VA Services Providers?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there anyone here from the Richmond, VA area? If so, what provider do you use? I am with T-Mo, and my signal strength seems to be getting worse. My bb continually says searching for network.

I am just trying to figure out if any other providers have better service, or if I should just tay with T-Mo.

Thanks!

Keith

I am in your area and I use Nextel. My signal is VERY good. I have trouble when taking Route 5 (through the woods) to Williamsburg but other than that, I have never had a problem anywhere - even works in the elevators at work when everyone else's shuts down

I am in Va Beach and I have very good service with T-Mo. My signal strength is always near max and the sound quality is very good. One good thing with T-Mo is that whenever you're not happy they always throw in some free minutes to help you out!!

I travel a lot for work, and it seems tmo work pretty well everywhere except in Richmond. It's kind of frustrating.

After talking with tmo customer service, they said they will send some engineers out to test the area, and I'm supposed to call back in 7 business days to find out what they said.

You need to base your decision on where you will use the device - work, play, live, travel etc. I assume all of that is done inthe Richmond area? According to the coverage maps, Verizon has the best service in that area. Cingular and T-Mo appear to have somewhat limited coverage, especially outside the city.

If I can get out of my T-Mo contract, I'm leaning toward Verizon.

I would talk to friends, co-workers, etc. and see what service they have and the coverage provided before making the final decision. You shouldn't base it on what you read here.

Well some of us actually live, work and play in this area - making our opinions quite valid.

Perhaps he just shouldn't base it on what YOU say.

I live in the "Short Pump" area of Richmond, and I seem to have really good signal. I'm not familier with the 7105t phone so I can't speak on its behalf. I was with Nextel and had good service but I wanted the 8700 so I went to TMO plus my bill was cut WAY back verse what I was paying. Verizon is the best, but you'll pay the most for them. I'm pretty content with my TMO 8700g.

I will give you that one. And I agree as I was trying to point out.

Maybe I just need to get an 8700!

Wirelessly posted (seventy one thirty: BlackBerry7130/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I reside in Richmond, (Glen Allen) VA.

I personally use Cingular and get at least 4 bars everywhere except my store. I also had t-mo in the past and I feel your pain.

a friend and i both picked up tmo 8700s' and they are working great. good reception. no probs or issues around richmond as of yet (with the exception of being in a few buildings).
not sure if its the same with bb's but tech usually says turn off then back on it will find the nearest tower. i use mine mostly downtown and west end.
