and I also spoke to Nokia that said you would have to install it yourself but they couldn't say whether the software for the 9300 will work with the E60.
Great!
I guess it's just a matter of trying.
My concern is that the 9300 BB connect did not come out until a year after the handset was released. will the E-series have the same issue? The only reason I'm getting the E61 would be because it's series 60 and has the BB connect included or can be downloaded.....or else it would be the same as any other Series 60 device with qwerty keypad.
The admin on Mobile Planet's forum said the E61 they have shipping to US soon has BBC included. Whether this is true we won't know until they get delivered to customer, but it is a good sign.
What I want to know is whether it will work with Cingular BIS. I've read somewhere (I think it is on Treo Central) that BBC won't work unless Cingular put the E61 on its 'approved' device list.
^^ also now all BIS' accounts are being upgraded to BIS 2.0 which puts everything on the handle and no online inbox I am wondering how this will effect the end user of BBC? And it seems to have been stated by Nokia that all the E series devices will be capable of BBC and MANY other types of email solutions, it seems to be the point of the devices.

Actually the upgrade to BIS 2.0 does not affect me as much since my usage is not to my BB as the primary storage or managment device. But I'm still unsure about how the new management works w.r.t. IMAP account. There doesn't seem to be a single document in plain English explaining how it will work on the web, or at least I haven't come across it yet.
I just got my E61 after playing with the E60 for some weeks, there is a software catalog browser on the phones called Biz SW, If I look after Blackberry in that catalog I find:
"The BlackBerry client for Nokia E60, E61 and E70 arrives in the next few weeks, please stay tuned."
(I first saw that 2 weeks ago, so it has soon been a few weeks....)
I'm also interested in hearing how the Nokia Phones work with Blackberry connect as we have users wanting a single phone like device for voice and BB use. (the same old story)
I've trialled the Siemens small phone with swiel keyboard and I have to say it was shocking! the layouts were all wrong and the general feel of how it worked and looked was awful! It took me 20 mins to set up a 7290 and I lost the plot with the Siemens, never did get the thing to work as it should - gave up after 2 days.
so I'm interested in hearing what people have found out about the Nokia's
Well than....looks like the E61 does not ship with BB already installed. I just hope Nokia hurries up and don't take their sweet time like on the 9300/9500 BB connect software.
I've had a 8700/7290, but find that since it's a non-smartphone I always go back to Symbian or WM. I've also had the 9300 with BB and like it except for the bulk and having to open up everytime I typed a new e-mail. I'm excited about the E61, but not until the BB connect is released.

I went to that business website and e-mailed them in regards to when they will release the BB connect for the E-series of phones. I told them that a few weeks could mean a few months and that's just too long.
I think if you advertise it being included in the phone than it should be shipped with the device. The 6822 that I got had it installed already, while the 9300 did not come with it and I had to wait like almost 6 months for the BB connect to release and I think that's too long. Furthermore, you had to update the firmware for it to work.

I have some internal information from Nokia and they said it comes in around 2 weeks.
I've seen a couple of E60 devices already - the usual unimpressive poorly contructed Nokia rubbish the Finns make so consistently!!! No BB Connect on the ones I saw though.
