You talked to the wrong people. Call 800-959-1444 to talk to Business Sales. Supposedly, Sprint's BlackBerrys are only setup for business accounts or individual accounts that are tied to a business entity. If you call the consumer sales group, they know little about BBs.
Yes, you need the BlackBerry data plan, not the PV. Last I asked, the data plan was $45 with voice plan and $50 for data alone. Not sure if they have changed the pricing lately. If some confused CS rep. was able to provision your BB for only $15, then you got it made. However, you may then have problem using the data part. You then call Sprint support and will need to be transfer to the special BB support group (Yes, Sprint has a dedicated group of folks solely support BBs). They will then tell you that you have the wrong plan and ask that you get the BB data plan instead.
