OS 4.1 for Rogers 7100G?
Please Login to Remove!
Hey all...
Just started a new job and was supplied with a Rogers 7100G (would have preferred an 8700 of course). The lack of icons is killing me! Anyone know if there is a version of 4.1 available for or will work on the rogers 7100G?
Thanks

Rogers does not sell the 7100g, but yes, do a search for "Hong Kong CSL", and you will locate a version that will work for your device.
Also, for the record, I prefer Trojan to Lifestyles.

I currently have OS 4.0.2.49 on my Rogers 7100G. I had Downloaded and ran the installer, but the app loader, did not pick up the OS change when I did a sync.
any thoughts?

Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and delete or rename Vendor.xml
from seattle18's instructions.

Can anyone confirm that this will work on a Cingular 7100G? I have one from work and have been waiting for the 4.1 OS for this thing after switching from my Nextel 7520 with the 4.1.
TIA

I also noticed that. One thing that will help is if you do not use your back button when exiting an appl. Only use the red end button. It doesn't close the appl. completely and allows it to open up much more quickly the next time you go to it.

after you open apps for the first time it will be much fast, that will work on ANY 7100 series except for 7130,7100i , because nextel and verizon are not gsm.

Yep, have it running now on my G. I like it a lot, but it does eat up a lot of space compared to 4.0. I love the Zen theme.

It seems like it's buffering the first time you run anything or perform any operation. It was painful at first, but now it runs as fast or faster than 4.0. The biggest issue for me is that it starts all over again when you have to yank the battery to reset.

well yeah because when you restart it ( like a computer) the ram memory gets erased, thats why its slow every time you reset

Never noticed any difference on 4.0. It must have a greater impact on 4.1.
