For those that display a numerical signal strength (Alt+NMLL), I am curious as to what is the best signal strength that you have seen.
I am normally in the 50s at work (great) and 90s at home (acceptable).
Not sure what is going on, but today I have hit 42 at work. I didn't know that it could get that good. Has anybody seen better? Maybe someone living under a tower gets in the 30s?
Just curious if anyone wishes to provide some input.

Is there any way of bolding the font for the numerical signal strength?
Or changing the color, while in zen theme? It is hard to see in this theme.

Also while sitting at my desk i can go from 60's to 90's. Whats up with that?
and what is good and what is no signal?

damn...mine is never ever below 70.......as far as changing the font...no way I know of.

I am quite sure that there is no way to change the font. It definitely looks better in some themes than others. The O2-icon theme is great. BB Dimensions-icon is not so good (with the number sitting on the right-side 'wing').

60-90 is a big range but it is all acceptable. As I understand, anything over 100 is not good. Anything in the 50s is fantastic. That is why 42 blew me away.

When you have no signal (like in the Toronto subway) it reads 256. When you "Turn Wireless Off" it reads 0. Go figure.

I hit 53 on the way home today. Of course I was about 100yds from a huge cell tower at the time. I'll keep checking, I'm curious now to see if I can find a spot where I can go below 50.

I am using the Orange os (.310).

A co-worker suggested that I am getting my signal from the CN Tower - we are on direct sightline with it. If you got 53 that close to a normal tower then a good day with the CN Tower is probably the correct explanation for a 42. It didn't actually stay that low but it was below 50 several times throughout the day.

Is there any way to boost a signal with the 8700C. I have good signal outside of my house but loose it inside?

There will be a carrier certified way soon. Spotwave will be releasing a carrier approved repeater product called ironically "Zen" in july. I plan on getting it since my home signal ranges from 90-105.

Can anyone comment... have you seen a difference in signal strength using a 8700 (c or g) vs a 7100? Does the 8700 have a better/stronger antenna?

Yeah, the 8700g I have is definitely weaker than my 7100t. I work out of the sub-sub-sub basement of a building, and previously I could get a spotty signal with the 7100t if I walked towards the outside walls. But I can't anything with the 8700.

I've seen a 39 on my 8700c before. Don't know if I was by a tower or what.

What is the NMLL?

Does this mean ALT+NUM^

Do you do it from the main screen?

I had a 46 today while running errands. I think I have issues,,,,I find myself always checking "the number" I have had this compulsion for a while now.....

While out this evening having dinner I had a constant 29-30 throughout dinner. If I could only have half that kind of signal strength at my house I would ditch the home land line.
