Question What's the best NOISE CANCELLING HEADSET???

Please Login to Remove!

I've had the Scala 500 which fell apart after a month or two. I work in a very noisy environment, blowing wind, trucks etc. If anyone can recommend a great headset AND uses it in this type of environment, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

For bluetooth headsets, you should start by looking at the SE HBH-300 and Plantronics 510. Others with DSP are SE HBH-610, Nextlink Bluespoon Digital, Jabra JX10, Jabra BT800. However, there have been alot of reported problems w/ DSP due to the way it handles noise cancelling.

If you're serious about having something that works, then you can forget about the "toys" above. None of them is going to beat any of the 3 wired headsets below, outside of BarJohn's custom AX2.

Personally, my Plantronics MX150 wired headset does a great job with cancelling background noise. Head to head, it beats my H700, H500, AX, and the 8700 handset itself. My HBH-300 is on its last legs so I can't do a fair comparison with it.

You've got to be joking. This one stinks.

I think Plantronics V510 or M3500 is best for noise canceling.

what is DSP? and what types of reported issues?

i have a jabra 250 and hate the crackling i hear and how it picks up wind better than my voice. i need a new unit and want to stick with bluetooth. i don't mind rolling up the windows, but want something to cancel the noise better.

I have had a lot of experience with different headsets but the best one I've used is the Nextlink Digital (their site is at nextlink.to) which has great noise cancelling features built in. Even with the top down in the car in the middle of London (near St. Peters) my caller thought I was in an office.

Good luck,

after reading the review for the H5 miniblue from motorola I would think that this would be the best. It dosn't have an external mic. it takes your voice from the vibrations in your ear canale and your cheek bone.

It's not Bluetooth but the absolute best noise cancelling headset is suposed to be "The Boom."

www.theboom.com

I tried one a few years ago.

They are apparantly working on a BT version.

In my experience the Sony Ericsson HBH-300 or NxZen 5500 Plus are the best

Logitech Mobile Freedom has pretty decent noise cancellation. I have it and it's my first BT headset..
