I'm waiting to hear back from the regarding this version.
I asked them for an OTA link and what they sent me says "beta." I'd really like to know if this version is an official release or a beta version.
I'm also not sure why the applicaton itself isn't recognizing that there's an updated version available. It's suposed to check every time you log on.

Man, you guys are killing me. I was hoping to avoid buying software with a recurring annual charge. But this is looking better and better.
I guess in the grand scheme of things, $45/year is not THAT much. ![Wink](http://www.blackberryforums.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Not sure I agree with the above. I am a verichat subscriber. Battery life does not allow me to leave it on all day (which would probably not happen anyway, logs you of now and then). The free google talk one (even though very basic, no smileys, no multiple screen names etc.) has much better battery life. I still get kicked of once a day or so. Thanks for the update info.

i get kicked off Google Talk more than 10 times a day. and i won't even consider the 'multiple networks' patch-work a decent method of accessing those networks. verichat and IM+ are the two best multi-network BlackBerry clients out there, and the money is worth every penny (until RIM releases their AIM client, that is).

The new shortcuts are pretty snappy.

Just checked using VeriChats "Check for Newer Versions" option and it said nothing new available. I've had my current version about two months or so.

Do you know if I will be able to trial the new version if my trial has expired on the older one?

Here's the OTA link.
http://www.pdaapps.com/ota/bby_beta_41/VeriChat.jad
It's also available from their web site.
The "check for new version" feature isn't working.

If you don't have the shortcuts you don't have the latest version.

My problem with apps like VeriChat and IM+ is the horrible battery power they eat up. I just downloaded the latest VeriChat so we'll see if they have that part correct.
Of course, I'm not a big fan of the big annual fee either.

That's a problem specific to CDMA. They can't efficiently keep a non-stop open TCP/IP socket without eating battery power.
Get an 8700r and you can run VeriChat for about 48-72 hours nonstop. (On my old 7280, doing 100 hours nonstop VeriChat running is not a problem).
On GSM/GPRS devices, VeriChat seems to have almost negligible impact on battery life when idling in the background. But on CDMA devices such as 7250 or 7130e, the battery seems to get eaten up between 8 and 16 hours later.

Just tried to install it via OTA onto my 7100T running 4.0.
Got the following error message:
"Error starting VeriChat: Symbol 'MessageArguments.<init>' not found."
Thoughts?

The app is OS version specific. You need the one for 4.0

Mark,
Does it make any difference to CDMA BB performance if you are using a BES or not?
