can someone please tell me how to set up the tether on the curve? ATT has added it to my phone but i can't access it.

You need to have Desktop Manager installed on your PC and connect over USB. The 9300 does not support OS 7.1, which is required for mobile hotspot.

is OS 7.1 something different? Meaning if i download Desktop Mgr I can use my phone with the USB plug?

OS 7.1 for BlackBerry devices allows them to become mobile hotspots. The 9300 does not support 7.1. You need to have Desktop Manager on your computer in order to tether.
