Email Options Disabled
Please Login to Remove!
Hi All,
I have set up a new BES 5.0.3 server. Wiped my BB and activated on this server. Since then, when I am looking at my email, if I open the menu and select "options" nothing happens. Similar problem going into the setup and trying to click on "internet email".
My phone is a Bold 9780, but it was working before I moved it to the new server, hence why I figured this might be BES related. It is currently using the default policy on the server, which looks to me like there are no settings.
In googling this problem, I found where someone said to reload the service book. I did this by leaving the battery out for a minutes and once the phone was started back up, went to the routing tablet and chose "Reload", but it didn't help.
Any other ideas?

Re: Email Options Disabled
Did you recently do an OTA upgrade on the device?

Re: Email Options Disabled
I had similiar issues here with 9650 devices. In my case, it was because the BISClient files were missing from the device after an OTA update.
Go to Options
Device
Application Management
Press Menu and choose modules
type net_rim_bis (to filter)
Do you have these modules:
net_rim_bis_client
net_rim_bis_client__en
net_rim_bis_client_res
net_rim_bis_client_resources

Re: Email Options Disabled
I haven't done any upgrades, but of the module mention, I am missing net_rim_bis_client (although I am using BES not BIS).
I should also add that I found my internet mail folder. It was hidden. However when I open it and select the correct folder, the settings do not save and it take me back to my corporate mail the next time I open it.

Re: Email Options Disabled
As you mentioned, it should have nothing to do with it, but the BIS Client is invoked the first time going into options. It is a strange issue. RIM is working on a KB article, but it still internal at this point. You have two options. You can push a package from your BES with the missing files or you can download the OS from RIM and plug your device up and do apploader. It will notice the missing file and replace it. Let me know your BIS file versions. If they match, I can just give you the one I created.

Re: Email Options Disabled
Mine are: 6.11.0216.1323. You are welcome to try them, but you might want to get them from the OS installation as I did for the 9650 device.

Re: Email Options Disabled
I downloaded the newest OS version and installed it. Seems to be working better now, except it still doesn't remember what folder I last looked at. Thanks!
