Default Receiving emails but unable to send

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Curve 8310 in BES. About 10 days I stopped being able to send emails though they still keep coming in! The company IT guys say it is not a BES software problem but problem for the provider - Vodafone. Vodafone say its not their problem but it is a BES problem. Result frustration!

I can phone and text with no problem.

When I take the battery out and restart the following error message appears: "uncaught exception net.rim.vm.stack overflow errror". Does anyone know what this means and how to solve the problem?

The two problems (receiving but not sending, and the uncaught exception) very well may be different problems. I think they are.

The uncaught except is a problem with an app on the device, or the OS....at any rate software. It can be a mystery. As you are on BES and have IT support, I'm going to leave it at that and say talk to your "IT guy", as uncooperative as he seems to be. If you are allowed to install apps and that's what you've done, look there before going back to the IT admin.

On the email problem, if it were me, and I'm on BIS, I would re-send service books. My opinion is your IT admin needs to resend service books to you.

I agree with Ira... Also, a couple of the google hits for that error seem to revolve around problems with data plans.

Is this email account with the sending trouble your corporate email account, or a separate personal account? If it's personal, the company's IT Policy might forbid sending from a personal account. Usually these IT Policies lock down both sending and receiving but it could be that your admins only disabled the sending function.

It is a corporate account only - I don't use the BB for my personal account.

Yep, that's definitely the purview of the BB admins at your company.

Problem solved by BB admin at the company. I had exceeded the memory quota without any warning.
