hi, im new here and i need help already!

my trackball on my bold goes up and to the sides but not down!

i need it to go down badly!!

is there any one who can tell me how to do it??

Could be dirt or lint. Do you carry it in a case or bare in your pocket or purse? Did you drop it or get it wet?

The first thing in troubleshooting is to do a battery pull. With the device on, pull the battery out for 30 to 60 seconds, replace and let the device reboot. That fixes many issues.

The second thing to so is read our FAQ and use the SEARCH feature. Your problem has been discussed many times.

In your case, turn the device off. Press the ball and roll in the way it DOES NOT work, and then roll in all directions for a minute or two. This should clean the contacts. Turn the device back on and see if it works as it should.

I use a microfiber cloth with a little eyeglass cleaner solution. Wipe the trackball with this and work it gently in the direction you want it to go using your fingernail. It usually becomes unstuck.

I had something like this going on for a few days. I just used rubbing alcohol on a Qtip to clean the trackball. No disassembly like I would have done to change the trackball for a new one. Just wiped the trackball with alcohol soaked Qtip, roll it a bit, wiped, rolled, wiped... Let it dry then turned it back on. Worked fine... If I keep the 9000 for awhile I guess I will eventually have to take it apart and replace the trackball. For now, it is working as good as when it was brand new.
