Exclamation How do I prevent automatic meeting cancellation messages

Please Login to Remove!

I NEED to turn off the automatic cancellation messages that are sent when I delete a meeting from by BB calendar.

This has erroneously sent messages to hundreds of people in my organization, when I only want to delete the meeting and the meeting WAS NOT BEING cancelled.

THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT I NEED RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY.

I cannot find anything on this issue on the blackberry website.

There may be a difference between BES and BIS here, and I gather you are on BES. But at least on BIS, when deleting the appointment, the user is prompted (yes/no) whether to send meeting cancellation to invitees.

A talk with your BES admin may be your next step (assuming you are on BES).

Wirelessly posted

Interesting. And you are not being prompted when you delete the appointment, huh?

Some thoughts:

If you created the original appointment, you didn't enter hundreds of invites, right? Did you use a group, and could that be a clue?

Or, were you an invitee? I wonder if when you are an invitee and you delete, is the cancelation sent to the others automatically? I'll have to test that to see.

EDIT: For what it's worth, I did a little test. If you are an invitee and have previously accepted the invite and then latter delete the appointment in your calendar, the blackberry does not send a cancelation to the originator. At least it didn't in my case.

But as I say, if I'm the originator and delete, the blackberry prompts whether to send cancelation to invitees or not.
